Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Residential Permit & Plan Review Specialist to join our team. Duties Review residential building plans and technical drawings for compliance with local building codes, zoning ordinances, environmental laws, and construction regulations. Interpret complex technical documents, blueprints, and specifications to assess project feasibility and adherence to regulatory standards. Evaluate permit applications, prepare detailed reports, and ensure all documentation meets regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinate with contractors, developers, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify plan details and facilitate permit approvals efficiently. Conduct site inspections as needed to verify construction compliance with approved plans and permit conditions. Maintain accurate records of permit applications, review outcomes, and correspondence in accordance with administrative procedures. Stay current on changes in OSHA standards, FDA regulations related to public health, environmental compliance laws, and local ordinances affecting residential construction. Qualifications Proven experience in construction or building inspection with a strong understanding of construction regulations and building code analysis. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, FDA regulations related to public health, environmental law, and local building codes. Experience in compliance management within government agencies or similar regulatory environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for report writing and documentation purposes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally. Strong interpretive skills for technical drawings and blueprints; ability to prepare comprehensive reports on findings. Administrative experience managing permits or regulatory documentation is highly desirable. Familiarity with zoning regulations, local ordinances, environmental law, and construction regulatory compliance is essential.
