Job Description

When it comes to environmental consulting, we're focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We're seeking a Multimedia Environmental Compliance Consultant to ensure environmental regulatory compliance. This role combines deep environmental compliance expertise with the ability to develop permits, reports, training, audits, and regulatory reporting. The consultant will operate as a strategic advisor, partnering with cross-functional teams to improve compliance outcomes and strengthen environmental awareness across the client organization. You'll serve as a technical specialist and lead for multimedia Environmental Compliance. Based out of one of our Virginia offices (Virgina Beach or Richmond preferred), you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with local and global experts to ensure Jacobs provides best practice solutions to our clients. You'll prepare and deliver high quality reports and presentation to clients' technical and senior leadership in accordance with Jacobs' quality process. You'll apply your technical experience to develop delivery strategies and develop client relationships while championing safety, quality, and the well-being of your team. And, you'll master and promote Jacobs' solutions and technologies to internal and external stakeholders. This position may require travel to client sites in addition to some travel to client or team workshops or presentations. The role will be predominantly office based, but periodic field assignments may be required. Bring your expertise in environmental compliance and desire to work on tough problems, and we'll empower you to deliver the boldest solutions for our clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree
  • Professional environmental compliance project experience, including permitting, monitoring, and reporting (preferably in consulting)
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and active engagement in professional networks, company communities of practice groups or similar
  • Experience with direct client interaction
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, and teammates
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience with small, medium, or large-scale client environmental consulting projects and representing clients to stakeholders including regulatory agencies
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations and regulatory processes
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • US citizenship
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
  • Master's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or other closely related technical degree
