Pay Rate:
$25.00 per hourEssential Job Responsibilities:
Emergency Response Respond to medical emergencies and provide care in accordance with Basic EMT certification and local/industrial protocols Stabilize patients and coordinate transfer with local EMS agencies Participate in standby rescue operations as designated (e.g., confined space standby rescue) Produce high quality, written documentation Fire Safety & Prevention Conduct fire and life safety inspections across the facility Ensure fire extinguishers, alarms, and suppression systems are secure, accessible, and compliant Identify and document fire hazards, including blocked egress, ignition sources, and improper storage Support hot work oversight and verify proper permitting and fire watch practices Safety Compliance & Reporting Communicate hazards and safety concerns to supervisors and client safety personnel Complete incident reports, inspection logs, and daily activity reports accurately and promptly Participate in internal and external audits and provide meaningful safety observations beyond checklist compliance Equipment & Readiness Inspect, maintain, and document readiness of medical, fire, and rescue equipment Ensure emergency vehicles and response gear are operational and stocked Maintain familiarity with facility layout, hazards, and emergency access routes Team & Professional Development Participate in ongoing training, drills, and certifications relevant to industrial fire and rescue Support team readiness and knowledge sharing and hold oneself accountable Maintain EMT licensure and required continuing education Operate within scope of training and actively communicate when tasks exceed training or equipment capability Critical Competencies Strong situational awareness in dynamic, high-risk environments Ability to identify unsafe conditions and communicate effectively across departments Decision-making under pressure with incomplete information Professional assertiveness in safety-related situations High integrity regarding compliance and patient care standards Work Environment & Physical Requirements Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, chemicals, and confined spaces Extended periods of standing, walking, and climbing ladders as well as working at high elevations Ability to lift and move patients and equipment (100+ lbs) May require extended shifts (12-16 hours) and overtime Important Role Clarification This position supports but does not replace the client's Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) authority Rescue operations are performed within the limits of training, equipment, and legal scope Qualifications & Requirements Current National Registry EMT certification Current Alabama EMT-B certification Ability to pass DOT Physical and Drug Screen Current American Heart Association BLS certification Minimum 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license required Reliable transportation and means of communication Basic to intermediate computer skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the shift, including routine patrols and moderate physical activity in all weather conditions.
