Job Purpose:
Suppresses fires, preserves life and property from the elements of disaster and renders medical care to sick and injured
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in fire company activities including fire suppression, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre-fire planning, fire company training, public education, and routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment and fire department facilities Perform rescues, fire suppression, ventilation, salvage and overhaul, medical aid and any other duties related to the preservation of life and property Maintains basic knowledge of the duties of other personnel in the station Perform duties of Acting Officer-In Charge when directed and if qualified Maintains up-to-date knowledge in data and information necessary to perform duties Inspects and tests ambulance equipment Completes appropriate medical reports Maintains currency of all necessary certifications as required Provides patient care and transportation of patients to appropriate medical facilities as needed Performs other duties as directed by the
