Certified Firefighter- Paramedic:
Pace Fire Recue District has an opening for a certified Firefighter / Paramedic Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.Hand or Associates Degree (Preferred), an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Knowledge of:
Fire suppression techniques; Modern firefighting and rescue principles and tactics; Emergency medical care; Physical fitness principles; Vehicle, equipment, and apparatus maintenance principles and techniques.
Required Licensing:
Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance as issued by the State Fire Marshals Office. State of Florida Emergency Medical Technician certification; Paramedic preferred; possess the state and local required certifications for the medical certificates as required by the Medical Director; Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training Certification. Applicant must be tobacco free for the twelve months prior to application as defined in Florida Statue 633 and remain so throughout employment.
Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Very Heavy Work:
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess Pace Fire Rescue District of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises and travel.
