Job Summary The EMT-Basic plays a crucial role in providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need. This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of responding swiftly to emergency situations, performing life-saving techniques, and ensuring patient safety during transport. The EMT-Basic will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support to patients in various environments. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the situation to determine the necessary medical intervention. Provide basic life support, including CPR, first aid, and management of vital signs. Safely transport patients to medical facilities while monitoring their condition and providing necessary care en route. Operate emergency vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations. Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and other healthcare professionals during patient care. Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring that all medical tools are functional and ready for use. Document patient information accurately and comprehensively in accordance with protocols. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in emergency medical services. Requirements Certification as an EMT-Basic from an accredited program. Proficiency in basic life support techniques, including CPR and first aid. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when assisting patients or moving equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge for operating emergency vehicles and medical equipment. Capability to assess vital signs accurately and respond appropriately based on findings. Valid commercial driving license may be required depending on the employer's policies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
