Job Description

Job Overview Join our emergency response team as a Fire Apparatus Operator, where you will play a vital role in protecting lives, property, and the environment. In this fast-paced role, you will operate fire apparatus and specialized equipment while responding to fires, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies. Success in this position requires sound judgment, quick decision-making, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing safe, professional, and effective emergency services to the community. Duties Safely operate fire apparatus and emergency vehicles during emergency and non-emergency responses. Perform pump operations and operate firefighting, rescue, and emergency response equipment. Respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergency calls. Perform firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical duties in accordance with department policies and certifications. Inspect, clean, test, maintain, and restock apparatus, equipment, and station facilities to ensure operational readiness. Complete required reports, records, and documentation accurately and promptly. Participate in training, public education, fire prevention, and community outreach activities. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year of experience as a career firefighter, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Class F driver's license: NPQ Firefighter I NPQ Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations GEMA or other approved Vehicle Extrication certification Join our team as a Fire Apparatus Operator and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. Pay:
$16.35 per hour
