Job Description

Firefighter/EMT-Basic Overview:
The Town of New Marlborough is seeking a full time Firefighter/ EMT (week day 8-4 plus Tuesday evenings) to be stationed at the firehouse/ambulance bay to provide emergency response to fire and medical calls. Position includes related administrative tasks and maintenance for the Fire/Rescue Department. EMTs who are certified as Firefighters will be paid on the higher end of the pay scale. Respond to and provide emergency pre-hospital care to patients at the EMT-Basic level. 2 . If qualified, to control and extinguish fires and respond to emergency situations where life, property or the environment is at risk. 3. Maintain minimum standards for emergency equipment and emergency vehicles; conducts apparatus and equipment checks. 4. Data collection and record keeping as relates to emergency services. 5. Upkeep of the firehouse facility by vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, and cleaning restrooms as well as snow shoveling/sanding and light yardwork including mowing, as necessary. 6. Performs other job related duties as directed.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Massachusetts EMT-Basic certification, CPR, HIPPA training
  • Valid driver's license with clean record Candidates who have Massachusetts Firefighter I/II will receive a wage on the higher end of the pay range.
