Job Description

The City of Ferndale is seeking dedicated, service-minded candidates to join our Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic. This is an opportunity to serve a vibrant, diverse, and active community while working with a professional public safety team committed to emergency response, fire suppression, rescue, medical care, prevention, and community service. Ferndale Firefighter/Paramedics perform a wide range of emergency and non-emergency duties, including fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue operations, hazardous condition response, fire prevention activities, equipment maintenance, and public education. The current salary range for this position is: $65,209.51 - $88,548.33 annually Firefighter/Paramedics reach top pay in just three steps, providing a clear path for wage growth. In addition to base wages, employees have opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and other eligible pays. The average compensation for Ferndale Firefighter/Paramedics in 2025 was approximately $93,000.
