Firefighter/EMTs must obtain Paramedic licensure within three years of hire. Hiring Process Physical agility test Written exam (National Firefighter Selection Inventory) Oral board interview Background check, medical exam, and psychological evaluation Residency Requirement Employees must reside within 30 miles of Traverse City within 12 months of hire.
