Job Description

Job Summary The Firefighter/EMT plays a crucial role in protecting lives and property by responding to emergency situations, providing medical assistance, and ensuring public safety. This position requires a dedicated individual who is physically fit, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and is committed to serving the community. Firefighter/EMTs are responsible for operating firefighting equipment, performing rescue operations, and delivering emergency medical care to those in need. Duties Respond promptly to emergency calls for fire suppression, rescue operations, and medical emergencies. Operate fire apparatus and equipment safely and effectively. Perform basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) as required. Administer first aid and CPR to patients in emergency situations. Assess patients' vital signs and provide appropriate medical interventions. Participate in fire prevention education programs within the community. Conduct routine inspections of firefighting equipment and vehicles to ensure readiness. Collaborate with other emergency services personnel during incidents. Engage in physical training and drills to maintain firefighting skills and physical fitness. Skills Proficiency in CPR and basic life support techniques. Commercial driving skills for operating emergency vehicles. Mechanical knowledge for maintaining firefighting equipment. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during rescue operations. Strong understanding of vital signs assessment and emergency medical protocols. Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and the public. Problem-solving abilities to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions under pressure. This role demands a high level of commitment, teamwork, and resilience. Candidates should be prepared for the physical demands of firefighting while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
