Job Description:
Responsibilities include protecting life and property through fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, fire prevention activities, and community risk reduction programs. Personnel respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, provide patient care, operate firefighting and rescue equipment, communicate clearly by radio or telephone, and maintain department apparatus, equipment, and facilities. The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in dynamic and stressful environments while demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to serving the community. Firefighters are expected to participate in training, public education initiatives, inspections, and other duties as assigned to support the mission of the department. 48/96
Schedule Compensation:
Firefighter/Paramedic:
$60,240 base annual salary excluding FLSA overtime worked. (Salary includes paramedic certification pay)
Firefighter/EMT-B & Paramedic Only:
$55,240 base annual salary excluding FLSA overtime worked.
Incentive/Certificate Pay:
Paramedic
- $5,000.00 Annually Intermediate FF
- $1,224.00 Annually Advanced FF
- $1,314.00 Annually Master FF
- $1,410.00 Annually Associate degree
- $720.00 Annually Bachelor's Degree
- 1,440.00 Annually FTO
- $1,200.

Annually Benefits:

Qualifications:
Education, training, experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) Basic Firefighter Certification by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic EMT Certification (Paramedic Preferred) Current Class B Texas Driver s License or must obtain during the first year of employment.
- Paramedic-only applicants may apply and must obtain Basic Firefighter certification within one year of hire.
