ASSISTANT PUBLIC DEFENDER TN

District Public Defenders Conference Legal Morristown, TN Annual Salary:

$71,940.00 - $188,508.00

07/20/2026 Who we are and what we do: This position will serve in the General Sessions and Criminal Court of the 3rd Judicial District, in Morristown, Tennessee representing clients charged with misdemeanors and felony offenses up to and including first degree murder.

Job Overview:

Our office has a complement of 11 attorneys, 4 legal secretaries, 2 investigators, and an office manager with physical offices in Greeneville, Morristown and Rogersville, Tennessee. Most appellate representation in the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and Tennessee Supreme Court is provided by the attorneys of the Appellate Division of the Tennessee District Public Defenders Conference.

Minimum Qualifications:
