Office Assistant PS Companies - 4.7 Madison, WI Job Details Temporary | Full-time $14.10 an hour 17 hours ago Qualifications Healthcare dispute resolution Insurance dispute resolution Workers' compensation insurance knowledge High school diploma or GED Document review Insurance claims management software Productivity software Medical terminology Administrative law Documentation review Technical Proficiency Full Job Description PS Companies is working with a state department in Madison, Wisconsin, to find a temporary Office Assistant who will be responsible to resolve health care disputes over the reasonableness of fees and necessity of treatment for medical services provided to injured workers; prepare cases for resolution of disputes involving the pharmacy fee schedule; and provide professional and administrative support with handling claim correspondence. This role will begin August 10th, 2026.
Pay rate:
$14.10 per hour.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
Resolve medical fee and pharmacy fee schedule disputes in accordance with Wisconsin workers' compensation laws and administrative rules. Review, analyze, and document claim information; gather additional documentation as needed. Prepare cases involving treatment necessity for expert review and maintain case records. Draft orders and recommendations for dispute resolution. Provide technical assistance and information to internal staff and external stakeholders. Answer questions regarding workers' compensation laws, procedures, and health care disputes. Recommend process and policy improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Two years of related job experience and/or training Knowledge of workers' compensation principles, dispute resolution, medical terminology, and health care billing. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to interpret statutes and administrative rules, analyze medical documentation, and work with claims management systems and databases. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems. Ability to collaborate effectively, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in complex situations.
Work Schedule:
40 hr/wk Monday - Friday 7:45 am - 4:30 am #gov2025 EQUAL
