Job Description

Position:
Associate Attorney — Marital & Family Law John F. Schutz, P.L. is a boutique marital and family law practice led by a Board-Certified Specialist in Marital and Family Law, based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. We are seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our team. This is a substantive litigation role requiring technical precision, professional accountability, and the capacity to manage a demanding case load from intake through trial. About the Role You will work directly with a Board-Certified Specialist and serve as a core member of the team.
Primary responsibilities include:
Drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, memoranda, correspondence, and court-ordered documents Organizing case files and maintaining case chronologies, document indices, and litigation timelines Monitoring case status across an active docket and keeping the entire team on deadline Preparing trial binders, exhibit lists, witness outlines, and logistical materials for evidentiary hearings and trials Organizing depositions and maintaining and updating testimony outlines as the case evolves Conducting legal research on Florida marital and family law issues and synthesizing findings into actionable memoranda Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff Qualifications Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing Minimum two (2) years of experience in Florida family law litigation preferred; substantive litigation experience in related civil practice areas considered Demonstrated ability to draft court-ready documents with precision and without excessive supervision Proficiency with Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure Strong organizational skills and the discipline to manage multiple active matters on a remote schedule Technologically proficient — comfortable with case management platforms, document management systems, Zoom video conferencing, and cloud-based collaboration tools; ability to troubleshoot routine technology issues without support Aspiration toward board certification or demonstrated commitment to professional development in marital and family law Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Three (3) weeks (15 days) of paid time off accrued annually 401(k) plan eligible after one (1) year of employment, with a 4% employer match and no vesting period Subsidized health insurance Dental and Vision insurance Weekly team meeting: 1-2 hours per week, conducted in-office or via Zoom video conference; attendance required How to Apply Submit a cover letter, resume, and a writing sample (preferably a motion or memorandum) to lisao@palmbeachdivorcelawyer.com.
