SARD & LEFF
is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our growing legal team in Atlanta. Our boutique firm focuses on alcoholic beverage licensing, regulatory compliance, business law, and administrative matters, representing clients ranging from local entrepreneurs to national brands. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a current law student or recent law school graduate to gain meaningful, hands-on legal experience while working directly with experienced attorneys. The Law Clerk will assist with legal research, drafting, licensing matters, regulatory analysis, and client support while developing practical skills in a highly specialized area of law. Key Responsibilities- Conduct legal research involving federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, ordinances, administrative rules, and case law.
- Assist attorneys with alcoholic beverage licensing applications, renewals, transfers, compliance matters, and regulatory filings.
- Draft legal memoranda, correspondence, applications, contracts, and other legal documents for attorney review.
- Research and summarize legal authorities and regulatory developments affecting clients.
- Prepare and organize supporting documentation for licensing applications, hearings, and administrative proceedings.
- Assist with due diligence, compliance reviews, and special legal projects.
- Monitor deadlines, licensing requirements, and case progress to ensure timely completion of matters.
- Attend client meetings, hearings, and administrative proceedings as appropriate.
- Communicate professionally with clients, government agencies, and regulatory authorities under attorney supervision.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical client files using the firm's case management systems.
- Provide administrative and operational support to attorneys as needed. Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school (2L or 3L preferred) or a recent J.D. graduate.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Experience with CLIO, Smartsheet, or similar legal practice management software is a plus.
- Prior law firm, judicial internship, legal clinic, or related legal experience is preferred but not required.
- Direct mentorship from experienced attorneys.
- Meaningful legal research and drafting experience.
- Hands-on exposure to alcoholic beverage licensing, regulatory compliance, and administrative law.
