Job Description
HB is looking for candidates that want to learn to practice law in a collegial environment, be mentored, and have courtroom experience and client contact early in their careers. HB desires to invest in new attorneys to help them develop the skills to succeed as an HB lawyer long term and build a career with us. Our summer program introduces select law students to our legal practice, business model and firm culture. While the summer associates gain a working knowledge of The Firm, our clients, and our expectations for new attorneys, we get to know the summer associates and take the opportunity to consider each for a position with our Firm after they finish law school. Our summer program provides a real-world law firm experience, with opportunities to: Learn how to practice law by working with experienced lawyers on complex matters for sophisticated clients Complete real assignments involving active files. No mock projects or assignments Attend client meetings, depositions, hearings, trials, closings and other external events Build relationships with our attorneys through work assignments, our mentoring program and events throughout the summer Meet our top leaders and learn about the history and future of the firm Network with associate and partner mentors who help you navigate your summer associate experience and begin your career with us Receive ongoing feedback throughout the summer on your work performance to help you during the summer and beyond as a practicing attorney Qualifications/Skills 2nd year of college graduate program Moot Court or Law Journal (strongly preferred) Top 1/2 of class
