Law Clerk to Judge Joseph L. Hensley (two positions available) Job location: Offices of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, in Springfield, Missouri Start date: Negotiable (open now) Application deadline: Initial review of applications will begin June 29, 2026; positions will remain open until filled Responsibilities
  • What you'll do Duties and responsibilities: Review briefs, motions, and other case filings Conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research on a wide range of topics Prepare written memos Draft, proofread, and cite-check judicial opinions Attend oral arguments Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications
  • All you need for success Minimum qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements by the start date: Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school Be a member of The Missouri Bar or be eligible to sit for the Missouri bar examination Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities: Exceptional legal research, writing, and critical reasoning skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Proficiency with legal research and word processing technologies, including Westlaw and Microsoft Word Job Details•More reasons to love this position Salary and benefits: The anticipated starting salary is $60,000 to $63,000 per year, depending on the specific position.
