Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented recent law school graduate eligible to take the North Carolina State Bar Examination as a Law Clerk to grow into an Associate Attorney upon admission to the North Carolina State Bar! The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in various legal matters, including Family Law litigation, legal research, case/client management, and drafting documents. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legal field while contributing to meaningful work that supports our clients and the firm, and designed to grow into your first job as an attorney! This position is a paid opportunity to get hands-on, on-the-job training and experience so you can hit the ground running once you are admitted to practice. Responsibilities Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation and analysis. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Assist attorneys in preparing for trials by organizing case files, summarizing evidence, and identifying key issues. Analyze case law and statutes to provide insights that inform legal strategies. Collaborate with the General Counsel on various projects related to fraud prevention detection and compliance matters. Maintain organized records of all legal documents and correspondence related to ongoing cases. Support attorneys during depositions, mediation, and hearings as needed. Skills Excellent and highly motivated work ethic, self-starter, and initiative driven individual. Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research databases such as Lexis-Nexis. Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and articulate findings effectively. Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures is a plus. Experience or coursework related to paralegal studies is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
