Full-Time About the Opportunity A growing family law practice is seeking a confident, compassionate, and highly organized Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, genuinely cares about clients, and can independently manage cases while providing exceptional legal representation. The successful candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent client relationship abilities, and the confidence to advocate effectively on behalf of clients during some of the most challenging periods of their lives. Key Responsibilities Manage family law matters from intake through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, stipulations, discovery requests, and responses. Conduct court appearances, conferences, hearings, and motion practice. Handle client consultations, intake meetings, and case strategy discussions. Represent clients in divorce, custody, child support, family offense, and other domestic relations matters. Negotiate with opposing counsel and advocate for clients in contested proceedings. Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and court requirements. Communicate effectively with clients and provide ongoing guidance throughout the legal process. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active admission to practice law in the State of New York. 1-3 years of family law litigation experience preferred. Experience drafting litigation documents and managing active case files. Comfortable appearing in court and handling hearings, conferences, and motions. Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team. Desired Attributes Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills. Confident and professional communicator. Emotionally intelligent and empathetic when working with clients. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage high-conflict situations. Proactive problem solver who takes ownership of assigned matters. Comfortable handling multiple active cases simultaneously. Deadline-driven with strong attention to detail. Technology Requirements Candidates should be comfortable using: Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel PDF editing software Electronic filing systems Digital document management platforms Collaboration and communication tools AI-powered productivity tools Experience with legal case management software is a plus.
