Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Legal Clerk specializing in Fact Witness Support to join our legal team. This role involves providing comprehensive assistance in preparing, managing, and supporting fact witnesses throughout litigation processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of legal proceedings by handling document review, case management, and client communication with professionalism and precision. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong legal administrative skills and a keen eye for detail to contribute meaningfully to complex cases across various practice areas. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of fact witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials by organizing relevant documents and evidence. Conduct thorough legal research across diverse areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal law, patent law, and more to support case development. Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all materials are current and properly organized. Support attorneys with drafting legal documents, affidavits, and summaries related to witness testimony. Coordinate scheduling of witness interviews, depositions, and court appearances while maintaining effective communication with all parties involved. Review and analyze legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials for accuracy and relevance. Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining compliance with procedural laws and client confidentiality standards. Assist in preparing exhibits and evidence for court proceedings through meticulous proofreading, transcription, and document review. Utilize legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather pertinent case law or statutory information. Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and organizational tasks to ensure smooth office operations. Requirements Paralegal experience or equivalent legal support experience with a focus on litigation or case management. Familiarity with a broad range of practice areas including civil litigation support, personal injury law, workers' compensation law, family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, immigration law, estate planning, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and general & commercial litigation. Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw. Strong knowledge of procedural laws relevant to civil litigation processes. Experience using document management systems like iManage or PCLaw; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Word processing and data entry functions. Excellent organizational skills coupled with attention to detail for managing multiple cases efficiently. Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating professionalism under pressure. Strong research capabilities combined with excellent writing skills for drafting reports or summaries related to witness testimony. Proven ability to manage projects independently while supporting attorneys in complex case preparation.
