Location This is an on-site position based in our St. Johnsbury, Vermont office. Note Candidates must have strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, Microsoft Office proficiency, and experience in billing, bookkeeping, accounting support, administrative business support, or a similar detail-oriented office role. Our accounting team plays an important role in keeping the firm organized, accurate, and responsive to clients and attorneys, and we provide the tools, training, and support needed to help team members grow. Job Description Prepare, review, and edit client invoices under the direction of billing attorneys and the billing coordinator. Enter, update, and maintain billing information in the firm's accounting system. Verify client matter details, billing entries, coding, and account information for accuracy. Respond to routine attorney and client requests regarding billing information and account status. Maintain accurate billing records and assist with regular billing department workflows. Handle confidential financial and client information with professionalism and discretion. Support the accounting department with additional administrative and accounting-related tasks as assigned. Develop billing knowledge and grow into more advanced billing responsibilities over time. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree is a plus. Experience with billing, bookkeeping, accounting support, administrative business support, data entry, or related office work preferred. Law firm, professional services, or client billing experience is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with business software or accounting systems preferred. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Ability to manage a steady volume of routine tasks with consistency. Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and accounting team members. Basic understanding of accounting principles preferred.
