Lateral Deputy Sheriff starting salaries within the advertised range are determined based on the applicant's years of law enforcement experience, education, qualifications, and assignment within the agency. In addition to base salary, MCSO offers numerous opportunities for increased earnings through specialty assignments, shift incentives, and specialty pay. Eligible personnel may receive additional compensation for specialized duties, including but not limited to K-9, Criminal Investigations, SWAT, Marine Dive Team, and other assignments. Additional earning opportunities may also be available through approved overtime, and special events. MCSO is committed to investing in its employees by offering educational incentives for Associate's, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, as well as tuition reimbursement opportunities for continued professional development. All uniforms, equipment, and duty gear are provided. Take-home law enforcement vehicles are also provided for eligible assignments•.
