Job Description
The Colusa County Sheriff's Office is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Sheriff's Technician to join our team. In this essential role, you will provide administrative and technical support with primary responsibility for the management of property and evidence and the maintenance of coroner records. Your work will help ensure the integrity of critical evidence, maintain accurate records, support investigations, and uphold the Sheriff's Office's commitment to public safety, accountability, and professional service. What's this Job All About? As the Sheriff's Technician, you will play a vital behind-the-scenes role that directly supports criminal investigations, the Coroner's Office, and the overall operations of the Sheriff's Office. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain accurate records while handling sensitive and confidential information. Property & Evidence You will be responsible for receiving, documenting, storing, tracking, and releasing property and evidence while maintaining accurate records and preserving the chain of custody. Your work helps ensure evidence is managed in accordance with departmental policies and applicable laws, supporting the integrity of criminal investigations and the justice process. Coroner Records You will manage and maintain coroner records, ensuring documentation is accurate, organized, complete, and maintained in compliance with legal requirements and departmental procedures. Your attention to detail will help preserve the integrity of these important records while supporting the administrative functions of the Coroner's Office. Your commitment to accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality will help ensure the Sheriff's Office maintains reliable records, safeguards critical evidence, and continues to provide professional service to the community.
