The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opening for an Entry-Level Deputy Sheriff-Detention. This role serves a critical function within our organization, being directly responsible for the supervision, security, and control of inmates in our detention facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise inmates in living quarters and instruct them in proper housekeeping and sanitation. Maintain the security of the facility, ensuring rules, regulations and procedures are adhered to. Prepare written reports on inmate behavior and activities. Conduct head counts, security checks and inspections. Respond to emergencies and collaboratively work with other law enforcement officials.
Desired Qualifications:
A High School diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid state driver's license. Ability to pass a detailed background check and a physical fitness examination. Good oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves:
Previous experience or training in corrections, law enforcement or a related field. Certification in First Aid and CPR. Skills in conflict resolution and crisis management. Experience using computer and information systems. Ability to speak a second language fluently.
