The duties of a Detective are as follows, but not limited to: Detects, identifies, apprehends, and assists in the prosecution of violent and non-violent criminal offenders Collects, analyzes and verifies information received during an investigation Writes affidavits and search warrants Executes and supervises search warrants, and arrest warrants Takes charge of crime scenes under investigation Uses education, training, and experience to determine if probable cause exists for arrest warrants, and executes arrests without warrants when appropriate Recognizes, collects, processes and preserves physical evidence for court. Diagrams scenes, takes photographs, lifts latent finger prints, gathers and collects evidence. Completes written reports and testifies in court Takes call for crime scene and investigation call out Minimum qualifications for this position: At least 5-years of law enforcement experience Self-motivated and driven to get the job done Experience writing reports, affidavits, and search warrants No Brady and Giglio issues Current Kansas law enforcement certification or eligible for reciprocity from another state Currently employed as a law enforcement officer or recently separated Must have a valid driver's license No felony convictions, and pass a back ground check Must pass a drug, hearing, and physical agility testing Salary
