- Full-time The Department of Public Safety for Sinclair Community College operates as a fully functional law enforcement agency within a business environment and located within an urban setting of a major metropolitan city.
Secondary Duties:
This supervisory position has the responsibility of providing first-aid and the application of CPR/AED techniques and the supervision of other department personnel who are also called upon to evaluate injuries, illnesses and to request further medical assistance when warranted Lieutenants, utilizing established crime prevention techniques, evaluate criminal incidents and statistical information to develop proactive measures to reduce criminal occurrences Be familiar with departmental and college policies, procedures, and programs The ability to supervise large or small scale operations of personnel and equipment under emergency conditions involving danger to life and property Command an Emergency Operations Center until such time that a higher rank arrives to assume control Coordinate policing with Sinclair Regional learning centers Maintain proficiency of the Clery Act and Title IX federal laws Other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of full-time certified police officer experience Minimum of OPOTA certification, or respective state's police training certification, required. If police training certification is from another state, completion of the OPOTA certification within a timely manner required Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and be able to diffuse volatile situations required Currently certified and maintain certification in the use of firearms (handgun, shotgun, and rifle) as mandated by the State of Ohio required Currently certified and maintain certification as required in CPR/AED Current TASER certification and maintain certification as required Current in depth knowledge of the United States Constitution, Federal, State and City laws required Proficient use of Microsoft Office required Completion of an assessment process and a panel review board requiredSimilar jobs in Dayton, OH
