POSITION TITLE:

JOB DESCRIPTION
Assigned to operational/support level supervisory position. Assist with management of the District police department. Responsible for supervision of personnel and administrative duties in the department, in addition to performing the duties of a police officer. Maintain and enforce municipal, county, and state laws and ordinances as well as District policies, directives, and standards. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as Chief Administrator of the agency in the absence of the Chief of Police. Oversee coordination of sergeant duties to include scheduling, assigned attendance zones, patrol, campus, safe school planning, and crossing guard activities. Oversee the administrative support function and personnel assigned to Investigations, K-9, and Crossing Guard supervision. Oversee the operational function and personnel assigned to Emergency Communications, Training, Technology, and Administrative Operations. Oversee the Fleet, Uniforms & Equipment, and Evidence & Property Support Operations. Coordinate administrative duties to include but not limited to budget and procedure development, as directed by the Chief of Police. Oversee the scheduling of police services at District-wide special events with Central Administration. Serve as a Departmental TCOLE Training Coordinator, as directed by the Chief of Police. Perform basic police officer duties, as required. Serve as Incident Commander during crisis events and as directed by the Chief of Police. Perform special investigations as directed by the Chief of Police. Serve as the department's representative on committees, as directed by the Chief of Police. Complete presentations and provide training to school officials, staff, students, parents and patrons with regards to safe school and criminal justice issues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police. Work assigned duty hours and perform specific supervisory assignments at the discretion of the Chief of Police. Regular attendance. Maintain confidentiality.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of ten years of full-time police experience with certification in good standing with TCOLE Five years of service in a full-time law enforcement supervisory position
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Master level of Peace Officer Certification issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Clear and valid Texas driver's license Successful completion of the Field Training Program upon employment
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability to be an effective problem solver Ability to work alone and complete self-initiated activities Ability to pass background investigation, drug tests, psychological, physical tests, and firearms qualification prior to employment Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws Knowledge of district policies and police procedures

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional District travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. The following physical requirements and/or capabilities are what an employee needs to possess in order to meet the physical demands of the job: Walking (move about on foot) Carrying (transporting an object by hand) Crouching (bending the body downward and forward by bending the knees and spine) Climbing (ascending and descending stairs) Lifting (able to lift 50-60 lbs.) Kneeling (bending legs at the knees to come to rest on the knees) Pulling (able to exert force upon an object so the object moves toward the force, includes jerking) Pushing (exerting force upon an object so the object moves away from the force) Bending (ability to move at the waist downward and upward with reasonable mobility) An employee may be required to perform any or all of the above physical requirements. These physical requirements may constitute 95% of the employee's daily functions.
