Job Description

Job Summary The Wasatch County Deputy Sheriff Merit Commission is recruiting for Deputy Sheriff and Corrections Officer positions. The Sheriff's Office regularly has openings for these roles.

Testing & Selection ProcessA physical training exam based on POST Academy standards (pass/fail).A written test.

A panel interview and a Sheriff's interview.

Each test requires a passing score of 70%.Successful applicants are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall score. When a position opens, the top three candidates are selected.

Additional credit may be earned for military service and/or post‑secondary education.

Salary and BenefitsEntry‑level Deputy Sheriff wage: $33.96 per hour plus a full benefit package.

Entry‑level Corrections Officer wage: $32.01 per hour plus a full benefit package.

Pay range: $32.01 - $43.46 per hour.
