Job Description
Greetings Thank you for applying for our Jail Deputy Position here at the Danville Sheriff's Office. What are needed to be eligible for hire are a valid driver's license and a clean criminal history. If that is something that can't be provided there is no need to apply by application. We run criminal back ground checks before calling anyone back. So this is a must. If you have any questions please email me back with what questions you may have. Part 1 of the hiring process is a written test and that is to make sure you can pass the Academy. Provided you get through part 1 there is a physical agility test that consists of 60 seconds of pushups and 60 seconds of sit ups. Run a quarter mile and jump a 6 foot wall. This is needed to gauge who hangs in there or will quit. If the test goes that bad to where you can't complete but a few of each you will be dismissed and encouraged to try again. This part is an interview process in front of a panel of 4 people including myself to learn more about you. If you are chosen after the first 3 parts then we will run a back ground check on your past. If you use drugs or have sold drugs then no need to even show up for part 5 will expose that part so please take this serious so no one is wasting anyone's time. A polygraph exam is giving lastly and provided that part is passed then you will interview with the Sheriff for a possible job offer. The starting pay is $48720.93 yearly as well everyone. I hope this clears up our standards and thank you for your time in applying with the Danville Sheriff's Office. Lt Col M.
