Full Time Manteca, CA Manteca Police Department Description The Manteca Police Department is currently accepting applications of those currently enrolled in the academy, academy graduates and lateral police officers. Under the direction of a Police Captain, perform police protection and other law enforcement services to safeguard the lives, property and constitutional rights of the citizens of Manteca; respond to crime and accident scenes, emergency situations and other requests for assistance; detect, apprehend and arrest criminals; enforce the laws and ordinances of the City, County and State. Assignment Full-time, 12 months per year (includes nights, weekends, and holidays), in 4/10-hr shifts. Patrol shifts typically rotate every six months. All police candidates are required to successfully complete a comprehensive POST approved in-service field training program. Twelve-month probationary period for lateral officers, 18-month probationary period for academy graduates. This position is represented by the Peace Officers Association (POA) employee bargaining unit. Must have vision correctable to 20/30 by glasses or contact lenses and free from significant color blindness; minimum age 21 years at the time of appointment.
