The Rapid Response Team (RRT) is a team of officers th provide daily response capabilities throughout Capitol Grounds. This dediced Response Team enhances the Bureau's ability to protect and secure Congress, ensuring they can fulfill their Constitutional responsibilities. The RRT maintains a strong visible presence on Capitol Grounds, responding to calls for service, planned and unplanned demonstrions, and conducting foundion checks of all Congressional lots, parks and buildings.
Note:
Multiple vacancies exist. The number of positions determined by the needs of the Department. The selection list active for a period of one (I) year from the de of approval of the selection memorandum unless an applicant withdraws in writing his/her applicion to the Office of Human Resources (OHR). Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must be a current USCP sworn employee below the rank of Sergeant and must have tained the rank of Prive with Training and successfully completed the probionary period by the closing de of this announcement. Bicycle Response Unit (BRU) Training Certifice must be included. Qualificions 1. Must be a sworn employee below the rank of Sergeant and must have tained the rank of Prive with Training and successfully completed the probionary period by the closing de of this announcement. 2. Must not be in restricted leave stus as of the de of selection. 3. Must be available to work flexible hours, roting shifts, and possible midnight assignments. 4. Must be in the USB Special Response Group (SRG) Program by the closing de of this announcement. 5. Must have successfully completed the Bicycle Response Unit (BRU) training. Certifice must be included with applicion. Educion There is no educion substitution for experience in this series and/or grade. This position is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions. This position is included in a collective bargaining unit. Phase I:
Initial Qualificion
  • The OHR will conduct an eligibility factor review as outlined in this vacancy.
In consultion with OHR, a review of all candides' resume conducted by an appointed assessment panel.
Phase II:
KSA Assessment
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities evalued by an appointed assessment panel, including resume review.
Phase III:
Structured Interview
  • Candides scheduled for an oral interview.
Results of this selection process used to recommend candides to the hiring manager, who is the final selecting official. The OHR will conduct a disciplinary action review to determine if there are pending investigory and/or disciplinary mters, which made known to the selecting official. Prior to making their selection, the selecting official will review any available Department documents, to include applicion documents, each candide's complete career disciplinary record, and results of selection process phases, and may, their discretion, conduct interviews with all recommended candides, if necessary. The selecting official may, their discretion, not select a recommended candide for reasons such as: I. Substandard performance; 2. Serious sustained misconduct; and/or 3. Pending investigory and/or disciplinary mters internally or externally. All aspects of the process are subject to the Department's legal review.
