Our department offers a low call volume, the ability to police the way you choose to, plenty of time to run traffic if that is your thing. We also offer a supportive command staff and opportunities to take training classes that you want too to better yourself and your career. Job Overview Join our dedicated law enforcement team as a Police Officer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and fostering community trust. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to serve and protect while engaging in meaningful criminal investigations, community outreach, and emergency response. As a Police Officer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring a safe environment for all residents and visitors, demonstrating leadership and professionalism in every situation. Responsibilities Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing immediate assistance and coordinating with other first responders. Conduct patrols of assigned areas to deter criminal activity, observe suspicious behavior, and ensure public safety. Investigate crimes by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses and suspects, and documenting findings through detailed report writing. Enforce local laws and regulations with professionalism and integrity, issuing citations or making arrests as appropriate. Engage with community members to build trust, provide safety education, and address concerns proactively. Lead criminal investigations from initial report through resolution, utilizing investigative techniques and criminal investigation skills. Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incident reports, and case documentation to ensure accountability and transparency. Qualifications Proven experience in law enforcement or criminal investigation is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions quickly. Military experience or training that emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and operational procedures is a plus. Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail for documenting incidents thoroughly. Knowledge of legal procedures, criminal codes, and law enforcement best practices. Valid law enforcement certification in accordance with Ga P.O.S.T. Must posses a Georgia POST police officer certification, valid drivers license, high school diploma or GED. A criminal background check, drug screen, and drivers license history check will be performed. Preference will be given to applicants who are already P.O.S.T. certified as a police officer. Benefits include health insurance for the employee, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and retirement. Pay is $19.64 hourly after probation the pay is increased to $22.58 hourly.
