Entry-level and Lateral applicants are encouraged to apply. The City of Ponderay is the home to approximately 2,200 residents and encompasses approximately three square miles. While the city itself is small, Ponderay is the business and economic center for Bonner and Boundary Counties, as well as the rural areas of Northwest Montana and Northeast Washington. It is estimated that the City of Ponderay accommodates as many as 15,000 people during daytime hours and an estimated 10,000+ vehicles pass through the intersection of Highway 95 and Kootenai Cutoff Road daily. Ponderay sits on the bank of Lake Pend Oreille to the east and is at the base of Idaho's largest ski resort, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, to the west.
