Entry Level Hiring Requirements:
Possess a High School diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of the written exam. No felony conviction(s) per preliminary criminal history check. Must be able to meet vision standard at the time of appointment. Must be correctable to 20/20. Valid Firearm Owner Identification card, or the ability to obtain one. Must possess a valid Police Officer Physical Ability certification (POWER) card due by September 5, 2026. Certifications will be considered valid within one (1) year of issuance date.
Lateral Officer Requirements:
Must be certified full-time police officer and have minimum of 2 years of experience out of the last 5 employed as a full-time police officer in another jurisdiction. Applicant must be at least 23 years of age and under 45 years, military exemptions exist with further inquiry. Applicants will be contacted after review of application for interview date. No written test required, No POWER Card required.
Part-Time Officers:
Must be certified Part Time Officer. Transition to Full Time Officer available.
