Position Details The Civil Service Commission of the Village of North Riverside, Illinois is accepting applications for the position of police officer with the North Riverside Police Department.

All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the

Village of North Riverside:

U.S. citizenship;

No felony convictions (

Note:

a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration);

Valid state-issued driver's license;

Minimum of 21 years of age AND shall be under the age of 35 by the application deadline date, (October 19, 2026) unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/0-7 and 5/10-1-12 of the Civil Service Act;

Be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. or High School Proficiency Statement;

Must be able to participate in and successfully complete all stages of the testing process;

Possess a valid

P.O.W.E.R.

Test card not older than six (6) months from the written exam date (October 28, 2026).

Test cards issued by Triton College, NIPSTA, or Joliet Junior College will be accepted. The

Test card must be maintained throughout the time your name is on the eligibility list;

Must successfully complete an oral interview;

Must successfully complete a background investigation (applicants will be required to fully disclose all personnel matters, to include agreements and sealed files);

Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, and medical physical (including drug and alcohol screening);

Pay a $25.00 non-refundable application processing fee.

Complete Mandatory On-line Written Examination Testing available between Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM and Friday, October 30, 2026 at 4:00 PM.
