Job Description

Police Officer, Pleasanton Police Department Police Officer, Pleasanton Police Department 06/20/2026 4:33 PM The City of Pleasanton, Kansas is seeking interest from qualified candidates for the position of Law Enforcement Officer. The essential functions of the position within the organization are to enforce City, State, and Federal laws; respond to calls, make arrests, issue citations, occasionally testify in court cases, and report on events and activities to the Chief of Police. Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center Certification is required, but the City would be willing to send the right person to KLETC. Must be able to pass psychological exam, strong background check and have clear driving record, Physical agility test, and a medical physical examination. Prefer at least 1 year of active law enforcement, but the City is willing to train the right person. Competitive benefits. Starting wage is $19.50 per hour for individuals that have no law enforcement experience, after the academy the hourly rate with increase to $20.75. Lateral transfers will be compensated up to 5 years of law enforcement experience, depending on prior experience. The benefits include KP&F Retirement, city pays 90% of insurance, 451B add on if you choose to do so, Aflac insurance is provided, but is ay for by the employee, take home vehicle depending on travel time from the city limits, and all uniforms and equipment are provided by the department.
