NEW CONTRACT - DC CAMPUS POLICE
Overview We are seeking dedicated and professional District of Columbia (DC) Special Police Officers who are committed to protecting our community, safeguarding property, and maintaining a secure environment where students, employees, visitors, and guests can thrive. As a Campus Special Police Officer, you will serve as a visible and proactive security presence, responsible for monitoring campus activities, preventing incidents, responding to emergencies, enforcing applicable laws and regulations, and taking appropriate enforcement action, including arrests when authorized. Your professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to public safety will be essential in maintaining a safe and welcoming campus environment. Responsibilities Conducting routine patrols and security checks of campus facilities and surrounding areas Monitoring surveillance systems and identifying potential safety concerns Responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents Managing conflicts and de-escalating challenging situations professionally Enforcing applicable regulations, laws, and campus policies Conducting investigations, preparing detailed reports, and documenting incidents Coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies as needed Providing assistance, guidance, and support to students, staff, and visitors Experience Proven experience in law enforcement, military service, security operations, or related fields demonstrating strong safety acumen Familiarity with surveillance tools such as CCTV systems and security technology platforms Must be in shape to conduct patrols of properties and buildings. Must have high school diploma Must have active DC Armed or Unarmed SPO license. Pay:
$25.15 - $28.00 per hour
