Job Announcement:

The Taneytown Police Department is currently accepting applications seeking Certified Lateral Police Officers. The Department currently has a 15-member force in a growing community of approximately 8,000 residents. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.

• $10,000 SIGNING BONUS
• Starting salary of $63,031.52 to $71,708.52 for Certified Lateral Police Officers depending on experience.
• Rotating twelve-hour patrol shifts.
• Night shift differential pay.

Compensation for Holidays worked.

• Minimum 3 hours overtime for off-duty court appearances.
• Yearly step increments with acceptable performance evaluations.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must hold a current Maryland Police and Correctional Commission Certification OR hold a current law enforcement certification in another state commensurate with Maryland certification standards. Applicants must also successfully pass an oral interview, a pre-employment background investigation, a polygraph test, a psychological screening, and a medical examination.
