Job Description
The City of Fairmont is seeking a full-time Police Officer to protect its citizens through the prevention and detection of crime. Fairmont (pop. 10,000+) is located in southern Minnesota at the intersection of I-90 and Hwy 15. Set amidst the prairie and a chain of five lakes, it is surrounded by farmland and is roughly 15 square miles in size. The community supports law enforcement and the services the PD provides. There are currently 18 full-time officers. The department offers its staff a variety of rewarding assignments and specialized positions. This position typically works 11.5-hour shifts. The schedule consists of two weekends on, two weekends off. Visit the City's employment webpage for a list of minimum and preferred qualifications.
