• Must have a reliable transportation and always be punctual for assigned shifts Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a strong and verifiable work history with focus given to customer service positions Must submit to a background check including criminal history, personal and professional references Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance at all times Must be physically able to work in all kinds of weather environments and scenarios Required License or Certification Position Overview Primary Purpose of Position The primary purpose of this position is to provide an effective and efficient link between the University Community and the University Police Department's operations and services 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

This position provides protective, security, enforcement and public contact work in support of campus operations. Positions at this level perform technical security and law enforcement work. Positions work independently while reporting to supervisor on a regular basis, demonstrating full knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to area of work. Essential Position Functions and Key Duties Ambassadors serve as additional eyes and ears to the University Police Department Ambassadors are required to provide timely notifications to our Command Staff on situations relative to hazards, suspicious persons/activity and medical/other emergencies Ambassadors will maintain reports to account for services they provide Ambassadors will be approachable, proactive and aware of persons who appear lost or looking for assistance Ambassadors will provide the public with accurate directions, information and assistance relative to North Carolina A&T State University students, faculty, and visitors Primary Function of Organizational Unit The primary purpose of the Police & Public Safety department is to support the University's core mission of teaching, research, and public service by providing comprehensive and professional public safety services as well as secure, convenient access to the NC A&T campus.
