Job Description

Pitt Community College is seeking a Campus Police Officer to join our Police Department. Help us create a secure and supportive campus environment where students, faculty, and staff can thrive.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
What You'll Do As a Campus Police Officer, you'll serve on the front lines of campus safety, responsible for, but not limited: Enforcing all campus, county, and state laws and regulations Investigating incidents and detaining suspects when necessary Responding to emergency situations, assisting the injured, and rendering first aid Managing traffic flow and issuing citations Providing law enforcement and crowd control during major events Offering assistance with car lockouts, jump-starts, escorts, and building access Preparing detailed incident and activity reports Supporting students and staff with sensitive situations such as domestic violence Work with external law enforcement agencies and represent PCC in legal proceedings as needed. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
What We're Looking For Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field 4-6 years of law enforcement experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience Certified and qualified under NC Law Enforcement Training and Standards Commission Valid North Carolina driver's license Proven ability to work in high-risk, high-stress environments Strong communication and interpersonal skills Firearm proficiency and a commitment to safety and professionalism This role may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and response to on-campus incidents under emergency conditions.
