Job Description
Must be at least 18 years old and currently working on completing a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University. Must meet the criteria for and be accepted to participate in the Appalachian State University - Hickory Police Department Community Response Police Cadet program. Must meet the criteria for and be accepted to participate in Hickory Cadet Police Program in partnership with Appalachian State Hickory and Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC). Apply during sophomore year for program. Starting the Community Response Police Cadet program at the beginning of junior year Must have a valid Class "C" driver's license or higher. Must not have been convicted of a felony and must undergo a thorough background investigation.
