Citizenship Background Check:

Physical Fitness:

Psychological Evaluation:

• Candidates may be asked to undergo psychological assessments to determine their mental and emotional suitability for a career in law enforcement .

Drug Screening:

• Mandatory drug testing is conducted to ensure that candidates are drug-free.

Driver's License:

• A valid driver's license is required, and candidates should have a good driving record.

Police Academy Training:

• Prior completion of a police academy training program is mandatory.

Certification:

• Certified New Mexico Patrol Officer or Certified in another state and eligible for the 2-week New Mexico Certification by Waiver Academy.
