Job Description

Description The City of Blue Ash is accepting lateral applications for the position of Police Patrol Officer.
REQUIREMENTS
: Lateral applicants are those applicants currently employed full-time as a Peace Officer, have maintained OPOTA certification, and have a minimum of three (3) years of road patrol experience. Applications must be submitted through the City's online system by or before Tuesday, August 1, 2026, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. A scored oral exam (interview) will be conducted to determine an eligibility list. The top three (3) candidates on the eligibility list will move to the interview phase which may consist of one (1) or two (2) interviews. If selected, prior full-time service as a Peace Officer will be taken into consideration when determining starting pay and leave benefits. The Blue Ash Police Department runs 12-hour shifts; has a Beacon Orthopedics fitness trainer and injury clinicians on staff; three days of mental health leave; ability to work out on duty and many other benefits and training opportunities. Typical Qualifications Good social and general intelligence; ability to deal firmly, and courteously with the public; good knowledge of first-aid methods; good judgement; skill in the use of firearms; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to drive an automobile under adverse conditions; good powers of agility; excellent physical condition. Current OPOTA Certification and three (3) years of full-time service as a Peace Officer with road patrol experience. Applicants must be 21 years of age at time of appointment; be a U.S. citizen; possess a valid driver license; have a high school diploma or G.E.D.; and have not felony convictions.
