Pay Rate:
$28.25 Hourly Non-Certified, $29.54 Hourly Certified | Full Time |Shift Details:
12:00am - 8:00pm Schedule days may vary. Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position. Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Lighthorse Police Officer is responsible for patrolling assigned areas and investigating incidents within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma to protect life, property, and public safety.Primary Tasks:
Enforce applicable Tribal, State, and Federal laws in accordance with established policies and procedures. Conduct routine and proactive patrol activities within assigned areas. Investigate motor vehicle collisions and criminal offenses; prepare accurate, thorough, and timely reports. Properly prepare arrest cases and testify in court or other legal proceedings when required. Carry out assignments as directed and remain on assignment until properly relieved by authorized personnel. Locate individuals with active warrants, take them into custody, and transport detainees or prisoners as required. Maintain awareness of conditions and events within assigned patrol areas and promptly inform supervisors of matters of significance. Provide traffic control and escort services for funerals, parades, officials, oversized vehicles, and other special events as directed. Observe and identify unsafe roadway or environmental conditions (e.g., debris, obstructions, icy bridges, flooding, damaged pavement, or traffic control devices) and take appropriate action or report conditions for correction. Attend and participate in required department meetings, training sessions, conferences, and professional development activities. Collaborate and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure consistent and comprehensive services for the citizens of the Choctaw Nation. Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:
At least 21 years of age Must be a US citizen Must not be convicted or have been convicted of a felony or have any pending criminal actions. CLEET certified or ability to become CLEET certified within 6 months of hire Maintain in good standing, a diploma of certification as a Peace Officer from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training Must successfully pass a written examination, physical agility test consisting of a timed one mile run, push-ups, sit-ups and agility test, review by an oral board, physical/medical examination, extensive background investigation, and MMPI.
