Reserve Officer City of Independence - 3.9 Independence, OR Job Details Full-time | Volunteer 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description The Independence Police Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Reserve Police Officers. The Reserve Officer Program provides individuals with an opportunity to serve their community while gaining valuable law enforcement experience. Reserve Officers assist full-time officers with patrol operations, community events, crime prevention programs, traffic control, prisoner transports, court security, and other public safety functions. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Oregon driver's license, pass a background investigation and psychological evaluation, successfully complete the National Police Officer Selection Test (POST), pass the Oregon Physical Abilities Test (ORPAT) with a time of 6:20 or less, and complete the Mid-Valley Reserve Training Academy (MVRT). Reserve Officers are required to volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per month and attend monthly training meetings. Uniforms and equipment are provided by the department (excluding boots). This is a volunteer position; however, some assignments may be eligible for quarterly stipends.
