Enforce Commonwealth of PA laws and University regulationsPatrols campus by foot, bike or vehicleMonitors/responds to calls for criminal, general assistance, campus emergenciesProvides emergency first aid as neededCompletes written reports on necessary forms promptly and accuratelyPatrols campus property and buildings to assure proper security and reports general building and grounds security issuesCompletes/files reports of crime and other police matters and conducts initial investigations;Provides assistance to other local law enforcement agencies as neededProvides safety and law enforcement for extra-curricular, social and recreational events and activitiesMay advise student or community activity groupsFiles appropriate criminal charges for violation of Commonwealth laws and/or enforces vehicle code violationsInvestigates traffic accidents and prepares reportsDirects traffic, enforces parking regulations, makes criminal arrests, serves warrants, transports prisoners, takes fingerprints, attends hearings, testifies and enforces University policies and proceduresAttends required trainingPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsOne year of police experience and formal training in the provisions of basic police services as certified through ACT 120 training; or any equivalent experience or training; possession of a valid driver's operator's license; ability to meet such qualifications regarding strength, agility and health required. The successful candidate must also satisfactorily pass psychological and medical testing, as well as be able to be commissioned in Pennsylvania. Candidate must be available to work shifts, holidays and weekends.
