Under limited supervision; performs general and specialized police work involving the enforcement of laws and ordinances; protecting life and property; detection and arrest of violators; crime prevention; community services or other specialized assignments; and performs related duties as assigned. Salary $74,475 18 Annually - Effective October 1, 2026 As a non-certified Police Officer your starting salary is $74,475.18 annually which is 5% below the minimum starting salary. Upon successful completion of the Police Academy, the FTO program, new employee orientation and obtaining your certification you advance to Police Officer Step 1 which is $78,198.94 annually. Pursuant to Florida Statute Section 943.16, you must remain employed by the City for a period of not less than two (2) years after graduation from the Basic Recruit Training program.
