Job Description

Posted Date May 27, 2026 Job Opportunity Notice Applications are available on the county's website and in the Administration office located in the Chesterfield County Administration Building 178 Mill Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709. Applications should be submitted to the county HR office at the address above, in person, by mail, or fax to (843) 623-2556. Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Chesterfield County is an Equal Opportunity Employer Under general supervision, conducts post-arrest investigations of crimes and violence. Committed within the jurisdiction of the fourth circuit. Ensures the enforcement of state laws and county ordinances related to public safety and welfare. Performs general law enforcement duties, exercises proper judgment in dealing with unusual situations, execution of search warrants; search, surveillance, interview, communicate, mediate information, comprehension of reports, and files; assist with trial preparation, court appearances, testifying, perform other tasks as may be assigned, and liaison of this office. Must possess a valid S.C. driver's license. Must be a certified Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer in good standing with the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Have at least five years of full-time professional work experience in law enforcement.
